Night at the Museum

We spent the day yesterday at the Creation Museum. We chose this week because they were/are having special Christmas events. Little did we know that we would spend alot more time and see a lot more than we expected.

The Garden of Eden

The girls were quite intent on completing the treasure hunt!

Checking out Noah's ark

Hangin' out in the 'stable'!

Two of my boys...taking a break...watching the fish!

At some point during the day, it began to rain and freeze outside. When it came time to go...we realized that we weren't going anywhere. Out came the hospitality of the staff!

We were treated to a Christmas carol concert in the lobby...

...planetarium shows....and even a showing of Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed in the special effects theater. When the interstate traffic started moving again...we loaded up in the car (again) and headed home.

Although the things in the museum didn't come alive like in the movie 'A Night At The Museum', you could have almost imagined it...with all the life-like moving dinosaurs! Definitely a day to remember!

Free Saturday Fun!

Normally when we want have some family time, we always think things like zoo, aquarium, etc. Those things all cost lots of $$$$!! We had a fun Saturday morning....and didn't spend a dime. (Except the gas to get there!)

We started out with a fun parade... L and BigM got to ride on a float.

A parade from littleM's perspective!

Then we made our way to Home Depot. They had a Safety Day - complete with firetrucks, K-9 dogs, haz-mat truck, free hot dogs and popcorn, free bike helmets, face painting, and a craft project.

L chose a red, yellow, and brown butterfly

Finished Craft Project

We had a good day together - and learned some fun things and safety tips in the process. I would recommend Home Depot's Kids Workshop for fun projects. The only thing I don't like is the question of what to do with all these wooden toys? Especially when your children like to keep everything!

Lions, and Tigers, and Bears, Oh My!

We had a great day yesterday at the zoo! The weather was probably the best "zoo weather" ever. Cool with a nice breeze! Our plans were made last minute....sure was nice to sneak in an unexpected field trip! We packed our lunch and stopped for frosty's on the way home.

The animals point of view!

Mesmerized by the fish

Two of my boys

All tuckered out

The giraffes were very active - I think they thought we were as interesting as we thought they were!

We don't normally encourage trash can hugging, but when you match?

We saw a polar bear, dolphins, tiger, elephants, snakes (eek), birds, sharks, baboons, and so on. It was neat to see again how God created all the animals to survive in the area of the world he placed them. The zoo didn't give credit to God...but I couldn't help but be amazed at the variety and uniqueness of the animals. Don't you think when He was creating He had to been having a little fun?!!!
