Hurrican Ike Leftovers!

We had an extremely windy day on Sunday. We didn't lose too many branches because we don't have too many trees. But the walnut tree? It lost all it's walnuts! So...I guess since I'm a bribing mom, I did it again!

I sent L and BigM out to pick walnuts up.

Mom - "Why don't you pick up walnuts"?

Kids - "Naaah"

Mom - "Why don't you get your wheelbarrow and see how many you can fit in it?"

Mom - " See if you can fit 100 walnuts!"

Kids - "OK! And then we can throw them in the field!"

Mom - " Yeah! And I'll take your picture too!"

I guess I could call it creative motivation..but it kinds feels like a bribe! Anyway - here is proof of their hard work. They ended up picking up 227!

So I guess we snuck in a little extra math today..counting! It is a beautiful day and a perfect one for being outside. Guess I need to get out there....not sit here in front of the computer!
