I got the suggestion for the bird from a friend - she thought it would be a fun way to 'dress up' a plain black shirt to go with this skirt.
I've had the other blouse for L for awhile and wasn't sure what I would applique on it. She picked a giraffe. I'm not sure if I'll add a button eye or not? What do you think?
Obviously I need practice on the the small curvy parts, but it was fun and they are definitely unique pieces of clothing!

ohmyword rachel...that is soooo cool! i love it, even though I would never in a zillion years try it! you said you get the creative bug once in awhile...well, i've NEVER gotten that bug!
ReplyDeleteI think just simple knot with your quilting thread like you do for embroidry would look cute for the eye on the giraffe...Very cute...I wish I had a machine that did that...
ReplyDeleteWow Rachel, I LOVE the shirts! Would you want to do that for me?? I'm really loving the bird.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I really like your banner picture, I have that same sheep! Bet we got it from the same person!!!
You've got me really wanting to do something creative, alas I have a dress pattern to alter, not the creativeness you've inspired in me, but I guess it'll have to do for now!

Whoa! That is completely darling. I zoomed in to see where you need extra practice and I couldn't see anything! If it was too perfect it would lose some of the charm. How did you do it? You should post a tutorial!
ReplyDeleteNot that I see Carson being to impressed, but still. Maybe I could do something for Miss Morgan!
Miss Morgan would love it! I have thought about doing this in the past...but school has me a bit too busy to try anything creative...for now!!
ReplyDeleteHow stinking cute are these? I would have no idea where to even start! I have ideas swirling in my head and none of them ever happen. I like the giraffe without an eye, looks very cute the way he is.
