Free Saturday Fun!

Normally when we want have some family time, we always think things like zoo, aquarium, etc. Those things all cost lots of $$$$!! We had a fun Saturday morning....and didn't spend a dime. (Except the gas to get there!)

We started out with a fun parade... L and BigM got to ride on a float.

A parade from littleM's perspective!

Then we made our way to Home Depot. They had a Safety Day - complete with firetrucks, K-9 dogs, haz-mat truck, free hot dogs and popcorn, free bike helmets, face painting, and a craft project.

We had a good day together - and learned some fun things and safety tips in the process. I would recommend Home Depot's Kids Workshop for fun projects. The only thing I don't like is the question of what to do with all these wooden toys? Especially when your children like to keep everything!

  1. Wooden toys are the best! They are timeless, and if you can find a place to keep them they will be the toys you kids and grandkids want and will be worth something too!
You never know your great-grandson may be able to sell this for thousands!

  2. Two questions, number one do you guys do Operation Christmas Child? Number two, how big are these things? The first thing that comes to my mind is to pack them up in a Christmas Shoebox, especially if you have two of everything. It's a great lesson.
