L received a sewing machine for Christmas from Grandpa and Grandma. She was so anxious to sew...she kept asking, "When can we have sewing school, instead of normal school?" So, we spent the afternoon sewing today. With a little assistance, she actually made something!
The finished product. This was fun because all of the fabrics, except one, are scraps from things that I have made for her.
I really like it...I've already claimed it to go under the candle on the dining room table. (I'm not sure what to call 'it'. It's not a doily...so therefore I just say 'it' and I'm covered! Maybe I need to say "home linen" or something sophisticated like that!)
I'd say "Patient Mom"
ReplyDeletewould be a better title!!
Did she cut, sew and everything?
How is it straight? Looks fun.
Love, Your sis.
I cut it. She helped pin...and did all the ironing and sewing. She had to rip a couple of times to straighten her seams...
ReplyDeleteI think she was able to sew pretty straight because it was all 1/4 inch seams. She just followed her presserfoot!
Great Job L! Auntie B would like to put her order in for a "table square"! Love you See you in a couple of weeks
ReplyDeleteWow how cute! I think I'll order one too, L! You did a great job. (You too mom, for being patient and taking the time)
ReplyDeleteJill
Wow L ~ I'm impressed! It's adorable. I like the commenter who called it a "table square" (actually, I like all the commenters but I especially liked her comment :o)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely it turned out! Great project - good to hook up here. I have been on xanga for awhile but have wanted to switch to blogspot for awhile and finally made the time. Hope you guys are doing well! Pam
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Very cute L!! Rachel, I hope I can remember to be patient and help Morgan with fun, memorie making projects, like this one, in a few years. You are a great mom!
ReplyDeleteL, I am so impressed!!! It's VERY cute and I just may have to place an order too :0) I totally agree with your sis on the 'patient mom' thing--LOL!
ReplyDeleteIt looks too formal for table square, so how about "carré de table"? Add a little french into it and it now becomes worth $249.95, imported from Miami County and all.
ReplyDelete"serviette de cire" would be my 2nd choice
Can I order a couple in Green and Brown?
