Squeaky Clean Giveaway!

After much talking, researching, and gathering supplies..we finally got our schedules together enough to make soap.
So this has to be the most unflattering picture of myself that I will ever post. Yikes!  Being the newbies that we are, we donned the whole paraphernalia.  Gloves, aprons, glasses!

Heating the oils ~ Olive, Coconut, Palm

We got the biggest kick out of these glasses.  This is the protective eye wear from the eighties found in hubby's toolbox!

Larry and Bob kept the children entertained and out of harms way.
{so you may think this is an appropriate time to insert comments about soap-making being an educational experience.  And that we should have been explaining the process to the children, maybe having them research soap-making, or having them write a thesis on why soap making has disappeared from our lives, or study the saponification process.  But my fingers are in my ears.  I can't hear you! I've thought I'd like to be that kind of home school mom.  Not happening here any time soon.  Nah, we'll stick with Larry}
The bars cut and ready to cure.

I will have to say that the soap seems to be a success.  We made peppermint and lemongrass.   The lemongrass was made with coconut milk, so those bars turned a darker color as they cured.

I have a used the peppermint a few times, and the lemongrass once.  I like and will try this recipe again.
So..on to the giveaway...
The day we made this soap, I happened to notice that I had 200 posts.  So in honor of that, I am going to give 2 bars of soap to one commenter.  One bar of each scent.  They have no official "scent name", are not perfectly shaped, and no fancy wrapping.  But, they are yummy smelling, creamy, and made with ingredients that you know, can read, and could probably spell!  No weird chemicals in this soap!

~Comment using your blogger account or leave a name or some way that I can contact you if you win~ {if you want to leave a separate comment with personal info, that's fine.  I just won't publish the comment with the private info!}
~The winner will be chosen with an official "draw the name out of the hat" method~
~The contest will be open through March 30th at midnight~
~Please be willing to give me a few days to get this sent out.  I do have 4 children, I home school, and have a life outside of this blog.  smile.~
~Enjoy!~

  6. Well. I am impressed, even if it isn't a homeschool enrichment project! My mom used to make very nasty smelly lye laundry soap. I kinda have issues with homemade soap, but I may have to rethink this. Maybe winning a couple bars would cure me!!
